Tell us about your business

Lou Collective is a women's fashion boutique where we bring in fresh and unique brands/designers to this every growing and fashionable area. Our core customer is the mother/(adult) daughter shopper that can come into our store together and both find items that fit their specific needs without compromising style or comfort. That may be our core customer, but we have styled a wide range of women for many different occasions, from weddings to european vactions to new jobs and just every day refreshes. We LOVE getting to meet everyone who comes in and building a relationship with them for any fashion need they may have.

Was your background always in fashion?

My journey to get here was a little all over the place. I studied business in college not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. During college I worked at a large family-run boutique, since I had experience in that from high school. It was there where I learned a ton of skills and my love for fashion grew. I had an internship in NYC during my junior year summer at a fashion house and realized I wanted to possibly have a career in this. After college I decided I wanted to stay in Denver and work for Nordstrom and try to climb my way up through the company. This is where I made a hard pivot and decided to try a whole new line of business. I went to go work for my Dad’s company in the oil and gas industry. During my 5 years with them I learned so much about business, logistics, and management, but when I realized my passions lay elsewhere, I decided to risk it all and quit to go pursue fashion again.

This, unfortunately, happened about 2 weeks before the world shut down from Covid. After a few months of wondering where life was going to take me, my dad suggested we look for vacant retail spaces. We found one fairly quickly and the dream was back. As a family team, we opened Lou Collective in June 21. I am responsible for all the buying, styling, merchandising, and managing for the boutique. My parents contribute to big decisions when necessary and my mom helps with the buying.

What sets you apart from other boutiques?

We really try to carry brands that no one else in the area carries. We are always hearing from our customers that they only ever see the brands we have online and love finally seeing them in person to try on. We are always searching for the latest, greatest and lessor known brands to bring them to our cusotmers who may not always have the time to find these more niche designers.

What do you love most about what you do?

The best part of this entire business is the people I have met along the way- whether it be customers who have become great friends, brand reps, or other fellow women business owners. The other part, of course, is the clothing! Being able to share the brands I love and share the way I style is such a unique and special experience.

One thing people may not be aware that we do is private styling appointments. We will set aside a time outside of normal business hours and tailor a personal shopping experience based on their specific needs. We love doing these appointments and giving even more special attention to the client. To schedule, you can contact us at the store by phone or by email at info@shoploucollective.com.

When you are not working, how would your spend an afternoon in Cherry Creek North?

I spend all my time practically in Cherry Creek North. I love dining at Kini's, shopping at A Line with Jack and taking Trevor's Lagree Luxe class.
